Halibut Derby Rules and Regulations
DERBY AREA is between a line due north from the buoy west of Crescent Beach, and line due north from the base of Dungeness Spit, and inside and outside the Port Angeles Harbor and north to the United States and Canadian International Boundary.

The 2008 DERBY will be Saturday and Sunday, May 24th and May 25th. Fishing hours will be between daylight and 2:00 P.M. Saturday, and between daylight and 12:00 P.M. Sunday.

The weigh-in station is at the Port Angeles Yacht Club, next to the west Boat Haven ramp.

  • Each person in a boat must have a Derby ticket or all will be disqualified. Derby tickets will be verified before a fish can be taken to the weigh-in station.
  • All fish must be brought in by water to the West Boat Haven Ramp and Docks.
  • In case of a tie the earliest time will have preference.
  • No contestant may win more than one Derby Ladder Prize.
  • Fishermen do not have to be present to win a prize.
  • All fish must be at the weigh-in station by closing time of fishing each day.
  • All fish must be tagged on dock before going to weigh-in station. li>


  • Tickets are $30 per person for one or two days.
